The Railway Children ~ The Book and The Movie

I had a wonderful vacation from work last weekend.  I was able to set aside some time  for relaxing and reading some contemporary books I had on my "to do list". I also was able to read one of the children's classic books that I somehow missed reading as a child ...

I watched the movie too ...

I was impressed at the quality of the movie (a Masterpiece Theatre production) and how closely the movie followed the book.  Both were very enjoyable and well worth the reading/watching!

While I enjoy reading contemporary books, there is something about visiting the older classics that I find refreshing.

Hotel Transylvania - Really Good Movie!

We hadn't been to a movie as a family in a long time so  a few weeks ago we went to see Hotel Transylvania at our dollar movie theater.   I figured, a movie for a dollar each is not such a bad deal.

Often, I'll watch a movie with the kids and it'll be okay  or have a few bright spots in it but we all agreed (which is rare for us - LOL) that this movie was fantastic!

I laughed myself silly and enjoyed it tremendously. The boys and their Dad enjoyed it so much that they re-watched it again about a week later when I was working.  They said they enjoyed watching it the second time as much as they did the first time.

This is definitely a good movie!
